Weak top 10!
« on: April 18, 2011, 11:28 AM »
How crappy is the lower half of the men's top 10 right now. Meltzer (!), Monfils (!!) and Fish (!!!) - all 15-25 material IMHO. Talk about lack of depth. I guess when Del Porto returns to his natural level that will help a little.

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

...and Almagro at 11, FCS.
Guess it's just a quirk of the rankings system. I mean, Roddick's down at 13 when any reasonable analysis of his career would still put him at about 6 or 7.
And that's the first and last time I'll ever defend Andy Roddick. Who the hell told him that hitting a lights-out serve and then
defending
constitutes a good game plan?

Considering Troicki will be top 10 by the USO this year it's only going to get worse.

It seems so difficult for promising youngsters to get into the top 20 these days. Andy, Nole, Rafa and Fed are truly, truly phenomenal

Sometimes I wonder what the top top will be like in ten years and whether or not I'll still be watching with as much interest as I do now. I'm guessing...not.

We are due for someone special and new to come along. Could happen any time. Del Potro is good, and Cilic is OK - but we are due another great youngster. Shame he won't be British...
