What's your all time favourite tennis matches?

Quote

This is more aimed at ones that don't include Andy, although feel free to post ones that do have Andy in.

My two favourite womens matches of all time are the 2008 and 2009 Wimbledon finals between the Williams Sisters.

For ATP, my favourite match actually happened this year. It was the Cincinnati Masters QF between Nadal and Federer.

The 08 Wimbledon final - Nadal/Fed. Best match I've seen.

Where it all began for me.

Fire and Ice. A match I watched live, and remains one of my all-time faves.

Thanks Angie for the wonderful clip. Such brilliant tennis from Andy especially how he held his nerve in that final game. A character defining match.

A top one is:

Murray V Gasquet, Wimbledon R4, 2008

Andy was a promising 21 yr old, but had never yet got to a slam quarter. I remember the gloom as despite playing pretty well he was being outplayed. Two sets and 5-4 up Gasquet came out to serve for the match. Some joker shouted out 'cmon Gasquet, do it for England.'

Well the joker's world was about to fall apart. Andy broke him then played an incredible tie break. I'm sure many people remember the final point of the tie break. Andy pulled of one of the most astonishing shots of all time, even ending up in the crowd and roaring with them in joy.

He went on to win in five, and announce his official slam arrival.
