What's your tennis rating?

I think you always expect the rallies to be faster - they tend to look slower than what you think they are like.

Absolutely, I think Neil just needs to try it out himself Smile

I'm probably worse than the players on that video but to me it seems I am so much better!

They get a bit better later on btw Wink

Although they just seem to hit it back and forward to each other..... Technically they seem to be ok, but there's no power at all. I'm reducing my level to a 4.5 though lol (as I initially suggested I was Smile )

Bear in mind also, with regards rally speed, I've been playing a) doubles (therefore slightly different) and b) my mate who is probably a 5.5-6.0 on that scale and therefore playing much faster. It's pretty tough. I would look shite in a video of me v him lol

You should all apply for a membership to British tennis and get a rating as well Very Happy woop.

How do you apply for a rating? Are there minimum requirements? And how much does it cost?

WTF, you get a player rating from filling an online form? That's bull**** - you need a professional to look at how you play surely.

No adult beginners start at 9.2 Smile I am 8.2 because I had a coach recommend it lol

lol Retract your post did you?

Bear in mind, ratings are mainly if you want to play in tournaments. There's not a lot of Adult tourney's in Scotland, but it may be better in London. Have a look on the competitions sections and see if there are any grade 5-7 adult tournaments near you. Then you could go and play maybe, even if it's only in the handicap section.

I bet you would lol Prove how rubbish I really am lmao

You are only getting a video of me firing aces past someone..... maybe my doubles match, because my partner will make me look good lol

I shall try and get her to record some on my phone and see if I can upload it Smile

Actually, scrap that, I'll borrow my dad's camera Smile

No, I'd like to watch in the hope that I'd feel a bit better about my own game which is probably the worst out nearly everyone who has talked in this thread, although it shouldn't be considering I was brought up with tennis courts right outside my garden which I could always access for free.

To be honest, I'm a cocky ******* and saying I'd beat anyone but bob was probably an overstatement lol

However, I am confident I would give anyone a good match. Smile Bar alex and bob I'm the only one that seems to play competitively so it's not an unreasonable assumption that I would be one of the better players no?

I'll record some of my matches with Julia over the summer. Very Happy

My technique is poor, been self taught since the age of 13 so no natural fluency in my groundstrokes, but hey. Very Happy
