Who's going to win RG then?

Right troops, after the shock (understatement) defeat of Rafa Nadal and Djokovic's loss yesterday, the draw has fairly opened up a bit, who are you backing to win, and why?

I'll go for Federer, providing he gets to the final, as Gonzalez/Davydenko would be easy pickings for him. Andy would probably pose a bigger problem but I still would back three time finalist Fed over five sets.

You make a good case for Federer, but I have no idea  search

You don't have a "don't know", so that must mean that you believe everyone (except me) has an opinion and will cast a vote Smile

I have to say that Andy may have one of the best chances he'll ever have at winning Roland Garros this year with both Djokovic and Nadal out. If, and I mean if, Andy gets to the final he will probably meet Federer. Can Murray work at Feds back hand again on clay? I think he could. Exciting times for the Scot - it would be ironic if he could get his first slam on his worst surface!  w00t

Murray v Monfils final, Murray to win.

In the last year Murray has won masters when I thought he had no chance, has lost to the top 3 only to come back and beat them more often than not and been to a slam final .  So for me Murray would not be a shock at this stage.
Murray to win.

You could be right, Neil, about Murray winning.  He really played very well today and has improved immensely on clay recently.  I still think he has a certain mental fragility in some circumstances and the fact that #'s 1 and 4 are gone will contribute negatively to his state of mind I do believe.

Murray v Monfils final, Murray to win.

Monfils has been struggling with injuries, do you think his legs will hold up to the final?

 no

Monfils will not win. He isn't consistent or mentally strong enough against the top four.

I've voted Federer, I think this opportunity could cause him to find his superpowers again. Murray is second favourite.

I think so this time. He had chances against Fed last year Smile Time will tell. And this coming from a Federer fan after all Wink

ANYONE but Federer. I can just imagine his reaction after Rafa lost today, doesn't deserve GOAT status for a minute.

Murray obviously but that would be so ludicrous I can't even imagine it. Don't mind anyone out of Gonzo, Del P, Davydenko or Monfils - all nice guys Smile

If Andy weren't to win, I'd love big Tsonga to win a Slam in front of his home crowd.

I would agree with this statement - from the heart - but head says Fedex will be up for this Rolling Eyes
