Robbie Koenig is my favourite, always enthusiastic regarding nice shots and doesn't fawn over players like Fed, completely unbiased commentary.

Don't mind Peter Fleming either but he is a bit too relaxed at times, and is definately prone to sucking up over Fed and Nadal, seeing as i mentioned my favourite i shall mention my least favourite which is Mats Wilander, can't stand that guy, he loves himself too much.

Jim Courrier for me was a revelation on ITV's RG coverage last year. So much so that I actually wrote a letter into them to that effect. He came at things for such a different angle and had loads of cheeky facts and insights.

Petch is also the man!

I dislike Castle too dani even though he is more positive about Andy than he used to be.  But can't share your enthusiasm about Tim - find him boring, banal and part of the 'bleeding obvious' brigade  Rolling Eyes

Lol,I don't think I'd go as far as say I'm enthusiastic about Tim,Ruthie-I'd be enthusiastic about Petch, and as far as I'm concerned Tim isn't a patch on him.But I don't mind listening to him,and I think he's quite good. He's nice enough to listen to,and when he gets really into a match I like listening to him.Obviously he doesn't commentate year round,so it's not like you could choose him over someone you dislike all the time, but if I'd the option I'd certainly choose him over a few I dislike! Very Happy

drchef,I agree with you there,I think Jim Courier can be very very good.

I agree with that about Courier, he was very good during RG last year. He and Sam Smith were talking to John Inverdale at one point after Andy went out to Ferrer. They both made some sensible, balanced comments about Andy and his development, all of which made sense to me. I don't like Courier doing on court interviews so much, he's a bit too desperate to be funny for my liking, but he is a pretty good commentator, although he can suffer a bit from the problem McEnroe used to have, the issue of when to talk and when to shut up, especially during points.

This might be a winner  Think

Sony's new home theater allows users to mute sports commentary and retain on-court grunts

Sony's new N9100 home cinema system has the ability to mute the commentators but still let you hear the action...Sony said it would work with any sport by eliminating the voices on the middle audio channel and leaving the background sound...

Sounds great! Looks expensive though...  Think I quite like watching tennis on the red button where there's no commentary, and you can just enjoy the tennis. It annoys me when I'm watching lower-ranked players and the commentators obviously have no interest in them at all and so deviate off into talking about the Djokovic/Nadal rivalry etc.
