We are so very close, with nine days to go until the first ball is hit on the lawns of the All England Club, we should look at some of the other contenders to go far in this years Championships, outside of the Top 4.

Qualification rounds start on Monday 17th June.

Baker, Rice and Bogdanovic all won their QR1 matches. Evans and Corrie were sadly edged out (Corrie was really close, going down 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 to Marchenko) and the other Brits couldn't spring an upset.

Most interesting result was Zverev (the unfortunate player who got double-bageled by Federer last week) thrashing (2) Jack Sock (up and coming 20yo American, right on the brink of the top 100) 6-2, 6-2.

Zverev only wants to make MD to bend over to Noserer again.

Looking at Nole's qtr, Berdych/Anderson, Querrey/Gasquet looks tough. And then you have Nole/Haas later. Not a very easy qtr for these guys minus Nole.

Simon is also facing Lopez in the very 1st round.

In the 2nd qtr, you have a potential Ferrer/Raonic match and then you have Del Potro/Dimitrov.

Would love for Raonic to pull an upset but unlikely. I'd definitely like Del Potro to advance but would like one of the young guns to come forward as well. Should be a good match.

In the 3rd qtr, Hewitt as unlucky as ever facing Wawrinka in the very 1st round.

Wawrinka/Isner later. That's a tough match and will make Nadal's life easier as he moves along. I hope Lleyton pulls an upset so that Isner can be saved. lol I really feel his more lethal on grass than Wawrinka and the H2H favours him too. Can Paire pull an upset? Unlikely now that Nadal is all the more careful. Will be interesting to see though.

Federer is cruising until the qtr though Rosol might make it a bit more interesting who knows.

Finally, our Murrya's qtr. Tsogna's got it really tough against Gulbis in the 2nd round.  An upset is lurking there.

Cilic is probably more likely to make the qtr who knows. I don't think either Tsogna or Cilic is going to be particularly easy, but Andy has more than enough experience against them.

I am not seeing anything else here.

Anderson always bends over against Berdych. Check the H2H.

Well - as long as there's no vaseline involved - all will be good!  (Sorry - couldn't resist)

I took into account the fact that Anderson is playing very well lately. Berdych is not going to get away with it  every time.

Four of those matches were this year. Two during Anderson's recent up-turn in form. Berdych won them all in straight sets.

I see Anderson improving quite a bit this year so I expect he'd be able to put up a good fight against Berdych. And the match in Madrid wasn't really an easy one. I do expect Berdcyh to win however.
