The draw for the 2010 Rogers Cup was made today. Murray, the 2009 winner, faces a difficult route to the defence of his title.

R1: Bye

R3: Gonzalez/Monfils
QF: Nalbandian/Soderling
SF: Nadal/Roddick
F: Federer/Djokovic

Murray is scheduled to play his first match on Wednesday.

Well if Andy gets through this draw to defend his title, I don't think we have anything to worry about - but I fear it's a big if.
Surely he won't be playing before tuesday (or possibly wednesday) as the tournament website says it's round one monday?  Funnily enough I couldn't find the actual draw on the official website so thanks for this information.

I think he'll reach the semi-final and fire himself for that but probably lose in the final. That's my prediction, hope I'm wrong Very Happy

He'll lose in the third round or the QF. Guaranteed.

Not easy to defend a title, never mind a MS.

I'll go out on a limb and say a Murray - Djokovic final with Tefal-head taking the prize.

Where on earth do you acquire the wisdom of King Solomon to guarantee anything?

If Andy were to get to the final, he will win it.

After the LA final, not sure how you can be so sure of that.

With Andy present style of play, Soderling will blast Andy off court in the QF.  Sad but true unless .........

Personally I don't mind if Andy uses the next 2 MS to fine tune his attacking play for the USO but I don't think this will happen.  Andy is too ingrained in his defensive style unless a really great coach can come in and change his mentality.

It is strange but I feel Andy is his own worst enemy, fearing change and being too stubborn to take on wisdom.  Someone like Brad would really inject that special something into his play but that will never happen.  I am becoming more and more disinterested because as I see Nadal getting stronger and better, Andy is wading water and moving backwards.

Still I wish him luck and hope that he will rediscover the USO-2008 / AO-2010 form.

On current form we will be lucky to see him win his first 2 games no way will he get past soderling which is a concern from a points perspective. Really want to see him win but too many players know he is beatable now and will be till he makes changes to his game.
