2006/2007 Fantasy Premiership Game « on: August 09, 2006, 07:27:10 AM »

Who's up for it?
I always have a league with a few friends on the yahoo game, and I have created a league for MW, similar to the world cup game several of us did. It doesn't require as frequent logging in as the WC game though which is good. Basically, you pick a team of 11 at the start, each player is given a certain price and you have a budget of 100 units to spend. You can make as many transfers as you like within your budget during the week (ie, between rounds of matches) and you have 11 players each week. You don't have to login and make changes if you don't want to, you can just stick with the same 11 throughout the entire season if you wish. Or you may want to follow it closesly and make changes due to injuries or form or whatever.

So you pick a team, and get points for how well the players play in their match. It's quite good cos aswell as point for goals and assists, you also get points for passing and tackles, and generally playing well (no idea who works it out, but someone calculates it somewhere).

Got to this link:
http://uk.premiership.fantasysports.yahoo.com/
Sign in with a yahoo ID, and click sign up to join the game. The find 'join group' and join using the ID and password I will send you.
So whoever is interested, send me a PM or just say so in this thread and I'll hook you up with the group ID and password.

Hope to get a good and competitive game going (and to add the Premiership title to my World Cup title Very Happy)

Ok. In more easy to understand terms:

Pick a team of Premiership players, and you get points depending on how well they play in their real life premiership matches. For example, if I pick Thierry Henry, and he scores a hatrick that week for Arsenal, I get loads of points in the game.
Basically, we are managers in this game who select a team and compete against each other.

So you have to have a yahoo account/email to sign in?  Is that right?

Yes you need to have a yahoo id as it is run through yahoo. If you don't have one, its free to sign up, and will only take a couple of minutes.
