seeds 1-4 was expected in QF. That is possibly as far as he could have gone in this tournament. Top 4 are way above him on clay, he could beat Davydenko on clay on a bad day, but RG he and all top 4 do well.

I would not be so sure about Davydenko.
He has really came on to form recently and put the match fixing thing well behind him.
Edit to add
Davydenko has two semis and a quarter appearance in the last three years at the FO.

Apparently, according to Eurosport France, Andy plays Eysseric.

Starace is also a toughie in R2, he's a natural claycourter. But hopefully Andy will have too much class for him, Almagro is a different proposition altogether though, don't see Andy beating him on clay.

Get a grip people, when you are ranked outside the top ten thats the kind of draw you can expect.
To get back in the top ten you have to beat players like Starace and Almagro.
Think positive!

I'm sure Andy beat Starace in Monte Carlo.

With Andy drawing a wild-card and not a qualifier is there more of a chance of a Sunday start or will qualifiers be expected to play Saturday and Sunday?

Who the hell is Smeets?
Heard of him before, he either played Nalbandian or Ferrer at the AO, easy loss though.
Rafa should be shaking in his boots with Andy in the final then.

I'm thinking French Eurosport is right.

Is Andy not due to meet the hoop-raker in the quarters?

Did the live paris masters draw not do the very same thing last year?

My mistake. The live feed of the draw didn't work so I got confused with which half he was in.
