The ATP disagrees with your notion of his current ranking Mikey
Of course they do! I dont know what is so difficult to undestand. Go back about 30 pages in this thread and at the beginning of every week, someone, either me, Lorna, Neil or Jake has posted Where Andy's current rank is. Thats way ahead of the Useless ATP site. We've been tracking his progress the same way for months now, so I dont know why you are saying now that its wrong, because its not.The ATP will update next Monday with where I said he was (14th) yesterday!
So we're way ahead of them on that aspect! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH

If at first you don't succeed, you fail.

It's pointless saying that though. His current ranking is 13, FACT!
Only update the ranking after he has officially lost the points of the week and has a new ranking next Monday!!
Predicting his ranking is fine, but it doesn't remove the fact that his current ranking is 13....

Whenever we have stated Andy's rank it has always been his current rank. When we state his future rank we make sure to use the appropriates language to make sure everyone understands that is a prediction. It's obviously best that way otherwise guests will wonder why we state Andy as something he has yet to be.

No, I wont only say his ranking on the Monday. How many times have we said if Andy beats this guy, he will move up to ---- ?? So why should we change that now because you want it that way. Cate, you obviously havent spent enough time in this thread, to understand why its called RANKING NEXT WEEK!!! Its not ranking this week is it??????

I agree with you there. You take everyone's points off for the next week and then just add on as they gain them back and shuffle it about. It's the easiest way to work it if you want decent predictions. And you do normally quite like our decent predictions don't you Mark?

Well then say he will move to 14 as of next week as he loses the points he was defending, instead of this...

I absolutely understand why you said his future ranking, that's not in dispute but my suggestion is to use slightly different language next time to not confuse the guests
I don't recall anyone saying Andy's ranking IS xx, they always say "next week" or "will be", that's all I'm talking about

It's just that it ends up conflicting with the frontpage which is updated from the ATP.

To me, If Mike says "Andy is 14th and no one can overtake him! " then that's his ranking. Whether it conflicts with the ATP or not.

Yeah, cool! Basically The ATP site will give Andys rank on Monday, then the next Monday and so on and on and on. A lot of us have been keeping track of his ranking and posting more regularly, almost daily changes. When he hasnt played there wasnt that much to post, but when he didnt play this week and there are almost nobody near him playing, its easier and quicker to tell where he will be ranked next week. So instead of us saying if he beats someone he'll be ranked here, there were no conditions to his ranking, it was simply he is 14th. I think Cate and Mark just got confused, and to be honest we should be happy that our community can tell where Andy will be ranked before the ATP site. I dont know why there was so much complaining!
