Does anyone know what tournament Andy is in next, after he plays Davis Cup. Is it still going to be Challengers or has he progressed past them now? I know he still intends to play a few more tournaments because he is outside the Top 100.
Do you now if Andy will play Federer on Friday or Sunday?

I heard he was trying to get into the Thailand Open in Bangkok and then on to the AIG Japan Open in Tokyo. He may have to rely on qualification or wild cards for those. He really needs to get into the ATP tournaments to pick up the vital points to get him into the Top 100.

I looked at the Thailand Open page and it said that Justin Gimelstob has already entered and he is ranked 112 in the race and 95 in entry ranking. That is around the same as Andy so maybe he won't have to qualify. If he does have to qualify then they they are on 24th and 25th of September, the day after his Davis Cup tie.

This confused me completely before I spotted the date What's happening, is it 'trip down memory lane' week? For the record, these days he's 12th in the rankings and 6th in the race.

That was probably when it all changed for Murray! He broke the 100 barrier, his first ATP final and had his first match with Fed. He gained a lot of experience from this tourney. Do you now if Andy will play Federer on Friday or Sunday?
Sorry Josh, but he only played him in doubles, they lost! Mackin played Federer.

In a couple of years after Murray has dominated the mens game, we will look back at the 'Ranking Next Week' thread and laugh at our hopes of Andy breaking the top 10

Just like getting into the top 100 was such a big deal here. Top 40 seemed so far away.
