You can't argue because you didn't watch it, that sounds nasty but it's the absolute truth.

He still deserves credit though, it would have been so easy to fold mentally and surrender the match - he must have been absolutely hurting inside at how bad his performance was. It's so easy to self-destruct in these situations, so I think he did well to turn it around and finish with ease.

He deserves some credit for not folding but then again, he's a top-20 player so if he did then he woudn't deserve to be there.
The latter of your post is amusing - he certainly did not do well to turn it around and he finished with ease because the other player was a kid with limited fitness who ran out of steam.

How many times have we seen Murray still beating decent players when he was running out of steam though? Ginepri at Cincy '06 and Haas at IW in 07 - it still takes a lot of concentration and focus to finish off a wounded player, especially if they adopt a siege mentality which is almost always the case.

We will know if he was hurting inside at how bad that performance was if he rectifies the problems in his next match.

I'm aware of that - Chang won a GS at 17, this very one infact.

OK, so this guy is probably going to end up a Grand Slam winner rather than your standard top professional tennis player, fair enough.

well I am sure that he will play better in the next round. He always seems to edge through in the first rounds and then go on to play great tennis.

No, that's not my point - my point is that his age is pretty much irrelevant because he demonstrated how capable a player he was off both wings earlier on.
Anyways, what's the point of continuing this debate? You'll continue to make outlandish claims that he was 'pathetic' etc etc.

Never mind, your opinion is Murray did well to come back, mine is that he didn't really need to do much against a dying player. Might as well leave it at that.

Ok Andy didn't play well (understatement), but he's through.
It's not as if he saved match points, and he kept his composure and concentration when his opponent was obviously tiring.
Eysseric played well above his ranking for 2 sets in front of his home crowd.
I know it's frustrating but I thought this was a fan's forum! I'm pretty sure he's not trying to drive us all mad :-)
