Rebound Ace Spokesman Paul Bull has stated that "we had an Australian icon event with a unique Australian product and now we are just going to become a clone of the US Open."

"It's just the US Open surface under a different name, so we will become a clone of the US Open. Same horse, different jockey," said Bull. "This is really just a hard court - it will be exactly the same for all practical purposes."

I agree with him, it's sad to see everything becoming more homogenous. It's one step closer to everyone phasing out other surfaces completely ...

Mind you, it favours Andy: should be QF at least ...  cmonandy

Not the same surface though, it's Plexicushion whereas the USO use DecoTurf.

Pity. I liked the difference. Makes you wonder at the point of having 2 different slams on the same surface...

After what i've seen in Doha...I think he can get to at least the Quarters and if he does not I will be disappointed. Maybe even Semis.

Who apart from Federer is likely to beat him on a surface like that? Nadal - no, not this time. Nalbandian - he'll be 150kg by now. Djokovic? Somehow I think Murray is due for some payback there. He owns Roddick and Davydenko. I think Murray gets as far as the draw allows before Federer is on the other side of the net. If he's in a different half, I'd back him to make the final.

You didn't answer my question - who else would beat him?

I think Djokovic, Federer and possibly Ferrer would beat him on that surface. Smile

Federer yes - I just don't think the others would, or not this time. And now Fed has a virus and cannot practice...

That's good at first sight but Fed has convinced us many times that even without practice he's able to play better than the others.
