Robin Haase.  nervous Although he could have got someone like Ljubicic.

In Davy's quarter though. Smile

Murray again has a kind draw.  He will play Haase in the 1st round with a possible QF with Davydenko. His SF could be berdy or Ferrer.  So no major obstacles.  The points for this say 300 for the winner when you view the draw but this was 250 last year.  I have no idea if it has changed or that is a mistake.  It's upto him how far he goes.  There is no one in the draw which should pose as a real problem, even if he doesnt play well.  Title no 3 for 2008?

According to the tournament profile on the ATP website, its only 250 points. I doubt its 300, because it would have been fairly big news if it was upgraded, since there are only two 300 tourneys - Dubai and Barcelona

The points are correct it has a €800,000 / $1,120,000 total prize fund and is therefore worth 300 pts to the winner.

International Gold tournaments with $800,000 total prize fund are worth 250pts.

With 250 pts up for grabs this week and 300pts next week it made a lot more sense for Andy to stay this side of the pond.

It will also be a 500 pointer next year after the restructuring.

Are you sure Al? I know normally it depends on whether its 800,000 or 1,000,000, but it isn't always. For example, from memory, Barcelona doesn't have 1000000 prize money, but still gives 300 points.

According to the APT handbook $1m is the threshold for points changes in international gold events, last year Rotterdam's prize fund was $925,000 and Barcelona's was $1,000,000.

So it looks as if either the Euro / dollar conversion rates or sticking an extra $75,000 in the kitty has done the trick.

Let's hope so anyway as the extra points will always come in handy Smile

The very strong field this year does not look so strange after all.

Well noticed. clap

Link to last years calendar which shows the total prize funds available.

Edit to add: The points are reflected in singles and doubles so if it was a typagraphical error it was duplicated making it more unlikely that this is the case. (Great to see the € doing so well against the US $ just now Smile )

Yep, really good draw for Andy and have to agree, less than a semi-final appearance and I will be disappointed. The top half of the draw looks on paper to be a lot harder and to be well avoided, so it is nice to see Andy getting the rub of the green with this one Smile

I’m looking forward to this so much, I’ve never been to Rotterdam and in the past it has been voted the best indoor tournament . So if I only get to one tournament this year it may as well be this one Smile

My guess now is Andy will play tomorrow. Berrer V Bachinger is on court now with Berrer 1 set and a break up. This is Andy's potential 2nd round match so I can't see them playing Monday and then Thursday.
