Gulbis into the QF if a slam. Something Murray looks like he may never achieve

His toughest opponent was James "Clay King" Blake.  Hardly surprising he's in the last 8.

He's a good player, mind you.  Been impressed with him.

Yeah he probably will, I also agree with you he didn't really have the hardest of draws. lets see how he gets on in the quaters against prob djokovic.
Back to your point Fuzzy, i feel Andy will reach the quarters at Wimbledon cmon yeah

Quarters at minimum is required.  He should be looking for a semi at least really.  Another 4th round won't satisfy people.

Very true Clydey. The general public will be comparing his success at Wimbledon to Henman and with him it was expected he would reach the QF every year.

I think Murray can make the semi-finals and anything less will disappoint him.

I genuinely think winning it isn't beyond him, especially since he now recognises the need to play attacking tennis.  He has been talking about attacking with some margin for error since he lost to Almagro, so maybe he'll finally start attacking again.  I'm dying to see another performance like the ones against Nadal, only without the occasional dips that ended up costing him.

I personally wouldn't yet put such expectations on him yet, because so much depends on the draw. Its very possible his quarter final match will be far harder then his semi final match. He could have Federer or Djokovic in the quarters but only Ferrer or Davydenko in the semis. In such a case it'd really only make sense to either expect him to reach quarters or to reach the final.

Monfils is considered a no hoper and now eve he has achieved more in the slams that Murray. I honestly can't see Murray ever reaching a slam QF. I just can't see Murray winning 3 best of 5 matches in a row. Not now, not ever. All it takes is for him o have a nightmare on serve and it's all over until next year.

He's already won 3 best of 5 matches in a row a few times.

You need to win 4 in a row to get to the quarters, genius.

I said that Murray would end up achieving nothing. Most of the posters here had ade posts declaring their belief that by now Murray would have a t least made a serious run at a slam, and bagged a masters series final.
