He isn't boring to watch though. So many shots leave you gob-smacked.
I hope he retires early like Sampras did - give the other guys a chance.

Can't help but appreciate the sheer genius of his play. He's beautiful to watch.
Well said. I agree totally, and I think you just have to respect the guy.

I have to say, I voted No in this poll.
But after watching a biography show on Roger and an interview with him. I see he is really a normal down to Earth nice bloke.
So I change my mind to Yes. I am a fan,
Good FED-EX!! Take home the French!

Not a fan of Federer or Nadal.
Nothing to do with them personally, I just generally never 'support' anyone who isn't British.
If I had to have a preference out of these 2, I might lean towards Nadal purely because he has been here and I have met him.

I disagree that Federer is boring to watch. Some of the shots are just breath-taking. It's a joy to watch the absolute pinnacle of the sport in the flesh. When I saw him at the Aus Open last year, it was amazing to be there, and although it was a typical 3 set obliteration of an average opponent, it was just incredible to see the game up close how it should be played.
Rather than Federer being boring, it's more a case of his matches are often not very interesting on TV, because you know it's going to be a one sided 3 setter beforehand, and it (nearly) always is. There is only 1 player on the planet you expect to offer any resistence whatsoever, and even then it's usually only one 1 surface. If anyone else even makes him sweat, it's a rare and major freak event. So often his matches might not be particularly interesting purely because they are just no contest, but he himself could never be 'boring' to watch IMO.

I regard Fed like Sampras. Unlike Aggi and Nadal, they leave their personalities behind when they're on court.
But I respect both hugely and can only give kudos to all they've achieved.
But given the choice, I'd watch Aggi and Nadal. Far more entertaining.

^ I agree with you 100% Tally, an exhibition match would be more entertaining to watch with bigger characters!

I think Federer is a class apart. His shot selection is so immense it's unbelievable. If you could see 100 places where he could place the ball he would put it in the 101st.

That's true.
Whch is why I rate him above Sampras as the greatest player on any surface except clay.
The man is a genius.

Well Sampras can do it, and I'd say that's the most impressive thing of all...

Sorry, you've lost me. What has that to do with the topic title?
It's about whether or not you rate Fed and are a fan, isn't it?
