no that's not my point.
They can join in the game fine, what i;m saying is, why join a subleague when no one knows who you are.....
Or indeed, why accept someone to a sub league when you don't know who they are.....

One of the benefits of creating the sub-league is hopefully encourging new members to join the website. So the more people that join the sub-league the better.
Well true enough perhaps, but you would think people would join the subleague and come onto the forum and say "hi i joined the subleague....."
I was just thinking..... If you want new members.... maybe you should have another box with a link to this topic on the frontpage.... Like the RTR box.... that way subleague members we don't know are directed to the forum when they see "ATP FANTASY TENNIS" on the front page.... no?

Why would I want a sub-league link on the front page when those are the people who already know about this site? What I'm saying is there are bound to be some people browsing through the ATP sub-leagues and they see our league. So they join it for some random reason and then think we are nice people, after that they join the site

My point is, they may be members that do not necessarily frequent the forum regularly ... but I'm not going to deny anyone who wants to join the sub-league.
Also, not everybody who has had requested to join the league should have to publicly make themselves known on this thread before they can play, that's just silly.

it;s not silly.... I'm not saying people HAVE to do it.
Mark- know about the site? how? you just said "for some random reason" ok fair enough..... Murray fans maybe.... but then they visit "Murraysworld.com" and then what? That's why i was suggesting the link on the front page.....
How do they know we are nice people via a sub league with nowt but team names on it?
Cate- back to my point, it's not that people have to declare themselves in this thread, but if I created a subleague myself say, and said "come join my subleague" (be that on MW or via e-mail or txt... whatever) then I'd be doing it do I could compare against my friends, not some randoms who I couldn;t care less about what they've got. Does that not make sense?
What I'm saying is, yeah sure, anyone can join, but at the same time, it's nice to know who everybody is, because the whole point of a sub league is to compete against people you know of.
I take on board it might not be regular forum users and it might take a while for them (if ever) to identify themselves in this thread. So on that point I agree, people can join.

It;s not a sub league link, it's a link to THIS TOPIC. SO people who join the sub league, visit the name of the subleague, see the link, click it, and join the forum.... follow? Something like.... "ATP FANTASY TENNIS 2007! Join our league HERE!"
Again just a suggestion

I understand now although personally don't feel it's worth it
If I put up a sub-league banner on the front page then I would want it to link to the actual ATP page.

We didn't know who cusick was last year ..... It didn't matter!!
If you want to create your own league Neil and personally vet each player before you accept them, be my guest. But this team will welcome anybody and everybody!

I hope this sub-league will be nice and big even if that means taking a few randoms from some Boggo fan club.

I was just making a point, to which you were replying with drivel dear lady
All you had to say was the last sentence
And last year is irrelevant, as I wasn't as much of a pedantic w**ker as I am now
