You'll probably get coverage of them discussing why they failed to qualify.

Frankie Gavin will not be able to compete in the boxing for GB as he has been unable to get his weight to 60kg for the weigh-in tomorrow, I wonder how far off he is, I don't understand this one, he's known all along what the weight is and has had weeks of preparation, surely has weight will have had to be round about that for other fights, unless he's changed weight category.

apparently he has been training like a professional rather than amateur so has gained weight maybe he has been overtraining and gained to much muscle which is harder to lose, reports say he could make initial weighin but would not be able to maintain it through whole tournament.
The olympics have slightly different rules he has to be weigh the same every day of the tournament and has to have a weighin every day.
He has been struggling to stay in his cat all year and would prob move up a division on turning pro anyway. He can't move up a class at the olympics as bradley Saunders is already fighting at light welterweight

You would have thought his coach etc. would have known what kind of training he needed to do to get to the correct weight, if he's turning pro after the Olympics he won't get another chance at it, he was being touted as a gold medal prospect as well.

I wonder if this thread should be stickied in Chit-Chat temporarily for more exposure while the games are on

Is it possible to make a global sticky in this forum? As in a thread that appears stickied in every section. Might be worth it for the Olympics?

I don't have the mod for that installed and I wouldn't really want it to appear in sections like 'Andy Murray' would be confusing for some people to see two Olympic threads stickied.

Does anyone know why Anne Keothavong wasn't selected to represent the women? There are quite a few that are ranked much lower than she is that are playing.

She probably wasn't ranked high enough at the cut off date. We have an Olympic Tennis thread in Tennis talk BTW for anone that hasn't noticed it.
