What's the Madison, I'm sure I watched it in Athens, but I've forgotten how it works. Is it when they cycle round the track for like an hour and every 10 mins or so they have a mini-race which gives points for the first 10 places?

No. That's the points race.
The madison is a team event. Two cyclists per team. You cycle round hard and fast on the lowest part of the track while your partner rests going round the top slowly. Then you swap whenever you want by tagging your partner, though you normally catch their hand and get a boost. Cavendish teams up with Bradley Wiggins and they are the World Champions this year in that event, winning by a considerable distance. It usually lasts an hour I think..... not sure though.....
Oh and on the points race, it's 40km race, with points every X number of laps for a sprint finish (10 laps?) and you get 20 points ( i think) for lapping the field and catching up to them again, then you just "rejoin" the field and have to compete for the sprints again.

Ruling makes sense. What I expected to happen. What needs to happen now though is for the IOC to adopt the BOC's rule or for the BOC to drop it. Need a level playing field on these things really.
I just hope that chambers starts getting invited to all these other events again..... would be really disappointed if he didn't.
Not to mention still running for GB at the Worlds etc, depending on how many years he stays in the sport.

Sigh....
He;s not won 4 in a row for a start.
The Yellow jersey in Le Tour, is worn by the rider who has the quickest overall aggregate time on the 21 stages. Yes he's come first in 4 stages, but that only gets you small time bonuses and nothing else. The rest of the pack finished with the "same time" as him today. Hence he remains however far he finished behind the leader on all the days so far. Make sense?
He's won 4, come second in one and not gained ANY time on the other riders as in every stage it;s been a close sprint. Hence he's only LOST time on the other 8 stages. Included one where he finished last after a crash, miles behind the main pack.

Took me a long time to get into cycling. Brits don't really follow the tour's around Europe. Worth watching on Eurosport if you can at somepoint. It's awesome.
