Our young friend turns 14 tomorrow. That means that he is now allowed to play in men's events.

I really want to see how long it'll be before he gets his first main draw wild card. You don't see a 14 year old in Futures every week, but I reckon that he'll get one very soon.

No problem. Smile

He will play his first ever major 18&U tournament this November when he plays at Eddie Herr.

Tomic won the 12&U crown there two years ago (Tara won the girls crown!!) when he absolutely crushed all his opponents (including a 6-1 6-0 win in the finals).

I don't think that he'll do much out there, but it'll be a good experience for him.

If at first you don't succeed, you fail.

A second round appearence won't improve his ranking. no

And the field will be tough. You'll have people like Elias, Nishikori, Cox (cmon yeah) and Dyce out there.

Do check out Tomic's physique :

He is well built like Nadal was at his age. Hantuchova is 6 feet tall and must be wearing shoes with more heels than Tomic. Wink

That height is really good for a 13 year old boy.

Having that sort of a body is such a great advantage. He is heading the Hewitt and Nadal way.

Boluda is heavily built as well. And Nadal's uncle says that he is better than what Nadal was at his age. Wink

His favourite surface is grass - look forward to seeing him at Wimbledon.
