It’s difficult, as a Murray fan, to be feeling anything like positive in recent days. Following much anticipation and speculation, his loss to Gasquet in the final hour came as a bitter blow as it meant Murray’s season came crashing to a premature end.

However, thankfully, Andy is already moving on and looking to 2008. It is this attitude that former champion Bjorn Borg has pointed to as the reason the Scot will win Grand Slams ‘sooner rather than later’.

I think Murray has a great approach to tennis; he really wants to be the best. He's still very young, too, but I like the way he plays…he's definitely going to be a contender for the Grand Slam tournaments.
Therefore, following a short break and a training stint in London, he will head over to Brad Gilbert’s home in California and also spend time practising at Nick Bollettieri's academy, Florida. Murray believes this will help him come back better and stronger in time for the Australian Open.

I'm going to get even fitter and stronger than I was this year and then we'll see what happens in Australia because I feel like I've got a good chance of playing well there.
So following the example of the man himself, we say roll on 2008!

The Telegraph article seems to suggest so. It's saying the fact Andy isn't in China gives him an advantage over the rest of the top of the game...

I don't agree with the first line. I don't know about anyone else but I actually felt very very positive after the Gasquet match. I mean he's just made a brilliant run at the end of the season, why feel down about it?

I can't believe we're actually at the end of the season but at least the new one isn't too far away!

As far as Andy is concerned now hes got time off for two months which no strain or pressure to do anything so he can chill, do some practice and get syked for the new season.

Get that 1st serve going. It's definately improving. His consistancy on it was much better by Madrid/Paris than it had been. It could be a big weapon if he can really sort it out over the off season.

Yeah but look at how devistating it was in the early rounds the last 5 weeks. That's so gonna help with his consistancy against the players he should definately be beating. If he doesn't have to struggle through matches he should win easily in the early rounds he'll be fresher for the later ones. And he is right, he held serve much easier the last few weeks.

I do wonder if it can just be "fixed"... it might be a permanent problem or it being resolved by something just clicking with Andy one day.

I think it could be a permanent problem. I just hope it won't be. I hope this 'as he gets stronger he'll get it in more' theory is right.

It’s funny how people read Andy, Bjorn thinks he will win a slam because of his attitude whilst Rod Laver is concerned by it and thinks it is a little suspect.

I wonder who will be proved right?
