Help. I dont want to wake up in the year 3000!

Re: Boxing... « Reply #100 on: March 12, 2008, 11:52:51 PM »

Hatton's next fight will be against Juan Laczano of Mexico. Its going to be at the City of Manchester Stadium on the 24th of May. Its also going to be shown at a reasonable time for UK audiences and the prices of tickets are very cheap! Hatton has said he wants to repay his fans, and this is his way of doing that. ALthough his opponent isnt up to much, Hatton expects to break the record attendance for a boxing match in the UK. Hopefully 55,000 people will attend, and I, and 9 mates will be part of them!!!! Should find out tomorrow about tickets! woohoo

I was watching that on the news before.  I wouldn't be surprised if my brother and his mates go to that.

Not really....

12th on the IBF list. Hatton is rated at 3 on the WBC list and No.1 by fightnews (the website that has these lists) but he's only 3 because he moved up a weight.

Yeah its really just a tune up fight! To be honest, the only reason I'm going is because I'll probably be in the country at the time. and it might be easier to get tickets for Hattons next fight, if I've been to a few of his previous fights. Theres also going to be a pretty good undercard!

Big night of boxing tonight.  First you've got Woods v Tarver then Cotto v Gomez and finally Cintron v Margarita!  Looking forward to it!

He's brilliantly idiotic at times.

Wasnt really. A very poor fight. Just a couple of moments that Calzaghe started to unleash, but then Cortez broke it up. Oh and Hopkins knocking Calzaghe down in the first. But Hopkins was such a joke. 3 times he complained of being low blowed. Once he was, but it just got annoying. He was just trying to disrupt Calzaghes rythm!

Hatton v Lazcano was a pretty good fight. That Mexican took an absolute beating, but styaed up. Full respect to the man! Hatton took a good few punches aswell, and showed a great determination to stay on his feet. A couple of times I felt he was going to get sparked out. The only downside was that the atmosphere was really poor. You'd think that 55,000+ people would make some noise.

Malignaggi v Ndou was a really poor fight, and I actually thought Ndou ha done enough to win. SPlit decision from the judges, so it was close. Perhaps Paulie was thinking about his next fight with Hatton though. It was so funny when Paulie's hair was all over the place, and the ref made his team cut his dreads off during the break. I do like the guy, and think he is talented, so I'm hoping he can recover from his fractured hand in time for a end of year bout against Hatton.

Matthew Hatton lost his commonwealth bout and you have to wonder where his career goes from here. Ne's not a great boxer and is going to struggle for decent bouts after his brother retires.
