Wow, well done Boggo for going up a few... but generally still sticking in the mid 200s... he'll always probably be there.

Re: British men's rankings « Reply #102 on: April 03, 2007, 11:15:11 AM »

Missed this the last couple of weeks. Apologies.

With DC duties this week it's a bit of a rest week from the tour and a good point to have a bit of a look at how the season has started off for everyone. So as a little treat boys an girls I'll give you the race position (where available) as well as their entry ranking. I also plan to change the format a little, if you don't mind, and give you the improvement of each player since the season opening. Thought it might be fun. Don't say I'm not good to you.

THIS REPORT IS BASED ON A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE PLAYER RANKINGS AT THE START OF THE SEASON AND THIS WEEK.

Singles

Big 4 first:

Andy, as you know has had the most amazing start to his season. Better than we even dreamed in fact. He's moved +6 to 11
RACE:3  cmon yeah

Tim has unfortunately been hampered with injury since the season opened and has only made it onto court 4 times. As a result he goes -9 to 48

RACE:131

Boggo also suffered from a bit of a dodgy start loosing in qualifying quite a few times and slips -24 to 147

RACE: 171

Richard Bloomfield is progressing well and has replaced Greg in our top 4. His good start has brought him into the top 200 moving +18 to 196

Other players of interest:

And Josh Goodall still sits as GB no 5 but drops -14 to 220

Greg, having lifted a racket even less times than Tim, through choice, has dropped a huge -92 to 283

Jonathan Marray takes our big leap of 3 places to 255

Jamie Baker is making a bit of a name for himself, steadily climbing +73 to 242

Jonathan Marray is also climbing +3 at 255

And as for the youngsters:

Daniel Cox currently sits +26 at 1168

Dan Evans is +35 to 1507

Doubles

The big 4:

Jamie Murray, as we all know has had an excellent start to the season. Perhaps most excitedly through his newly forged partnership. He has moved +34 to 43
RACE(with E. Butorac): 12 yay

James Auckland isn't far behind moving +30 to 53

RACE(with S. Huss):23   clap

Andy, hanging about that doubles circuit with Jamie has gone  +42 places to 89
RACE(with J. Murray):46  dance

Jamie Delgado slips -6 to 113

So that's this quarter done with! And what a quarter. Hope this gives you a little bit of a sense of how the guys are all doing. Particularly exciting times for Mr no 3 in the race. Looking forward to the red stuff.

Once again a collective mexicanwave to all. Come on lads!

So, DC week and the tennis world stops? Kinda...but not exactly. Couple of people climb and fall a few places without lifting a raquet, few others in action in challengers, here's the results.

Singles

Big 4 first:

Andy stays put at 11

Check out here for predictions before Monte Carlo.

Tim also a non mover at 48

Boggo sits pretty at 147

Richard Bloomfield manages to gain on him a bit hopping+13 to 183 clap

Other big movers:

Not a lot to report:

Alan Mackin manages to move -5 to 269

Richard Irwin moves up the rankings going +25 to 932

Biggest move this week goes to James May who drops -175 to 1294

Oh, and Jamie Murray seems to have dropped himself right off the bottom of the singles chart with a drop of 250 last week. Truly is a doubles player now! (didn't he do well against no 141!)

 yay

That's all in singles, now doubles:

Doubles

The big 4:

Jamie Murray, stays put at 43

James Auckland goes +1 to 57

Andy, still hanging about at the top of the doubles scene a non mover on 89

And Jamie Delgado drops -2 to come in at 115

Others:

Big movers in the doubles table this week and in the upward direction  cmon yeah:

Boggo sends one of his rankings in the right direction this week and brought his doubles ranking +90 to 622

Lee Childs is +49 to 470

And that's kind of the headlines. Following someone in particular you can check it out here:

Singles

Doubles

Very little action this week. But keep an eye in the boards. Booray in the doubles, ties can be found in Murray Talk.

Good luck to all for next week!    crossfingers goodjob

Re: British men's rankings « Reply #110 on: April 16, 2007, 10:40:41 AM »

First order of business is to show you something VERY exciting!

This is a post that I have been waiting to do for a VERY long time and I am very much looking forward to the number of smiley's I'm gonna be using! Just o a side not, something I meant to mention last week but didn't. Although Greg Rusedski has still got ATP points and therefore does still have a ranking, following the announcement that he has retired from Tennis I think we can safely stop following his progress. So can I just say, Goodbye Greg! Thanks for the memories!  clap

Ok, onto business.

Singles

Big 4 first:

Andy, in what seems to be the only ranking change in the top 30 has gone +1 and now sits at, wait for it 10   yay cmon yeah trophy dance jumping-w00t

Check out here for latest predictions from Monte Carlo and information on how Andy could end up no 8 after this week!

Tim again a non mover at 48

Boggo managed to win himself his 7th challenger title this week in Valencia, CA and as a result climbs +15 to 132  yay

Richard Bloomfield just goes down a little bit -1 to 184

Other big movers:

Not a lot to report:

Mainly downward movement for the rest of the boys we know of this week. But nothing too significant (in other words still single figures)

Couple worth a mention though.

Chris Eaton manages to move +26 to 848

Richard Irwin moves up the rankings again, keeping it steady going +41 to 891

James May again dropping out of the sky at an alarming rate (must have stopped playing)  -103 to 1397

That's all in singles, now doubles:

Doubles

In case any of you are particularly interested, the Bryans are back on the top here regaining joint first place after a little spell at 2. But what of the Brits?

The big 4:

Jamie Murray leapfrogs his partner Booty this week and climbs +4 to 39  cmon yeah

He's in action with Andy this week so check out Murray talk for the relevant match threads.

James Auckland stays put at 57

Andy, still hanging about at the top of the doubles scene a non mover on 89

And Jamie Delgado is back up +1 to come in at 114

Others:

Big movers in the doubles table this week again in the upward direction  dance:

Lee Childs is on the up again +38 to 432

Andrew Kennaugh is  +23 to 489

Richard Irwin had a big week as his doubles ranking also goes +36 to 638

And that's kind of the headlines. Following someone in particular you can check it out here:

Singles

Doubles

Andy and Tim in action in MC this week. Check out the action here.

To discuss Andy's progress head here.

For photos of Andy check out this thread.

And for Team Murray progress you'll find match threads here starting with this one

Good luck again to all for next week!    mexicanwave

Nope, your friend is wrong. Very very slim chance, even not playing that Andy will slip out of the top 10 for at least another fortnight.

Usually it would be bad but he has not points to defend here and Haas isn't playing so can't gain anything on him so he gets away with is. If he were to do the same in August this year or March next year he'd almost certainly lose places.
