Any chance that every time you update them, you could post the singles section here to save most of us going back and reading the first page?

Re: British men's rankings « Reply #69 on: February 14, 2007, 06:02:11 PM »

DC week so verry little movement in the higher ranks.

Singles

Big 4 first:

Andy stays put at 13  clap

Tim also a non mover at 38

Boggo drops again  -14  to 154

Richard Bloomfield slips back a little bit again going -1 to 187

Other big movers:

Greg loses those places he gained last week going -2  to 200   Crying or Very sad

Joshua Goodall also losing places -2 to come in at 212

Jamie Baker unfortunately another of our biggest movers this week with a drop -16 to 268

In fact Lee Martin is our only guy to gain places within the top 500 this week with a move +2 to 307

So not a great week for the singles. However the doubles makes up for that!

Doubles

The big 4:

James Auckland only just hangs on to top spot going -1 to 61

Jamie Murray gains on him jumping +6 to a career high 65 and on the up!  w00t clap

Andy stays put in doubles too at 99

Jamie Delgado's time out with injury takes it's toll as he drops -4 places to come in at 109

Others:

Joahua Goodall climbs +1 and is the world no. 166

Some huge drops this week with Richard Bloomfield down 42, Lee Childs down 68 and our biggest drop this week a whopping 200 place loss for David Corrie to 884

All UK rankings here

Singles

Doubles

Sorry it's so late, but it's not the best of news.

Re: British men's rankings « Reply #71 on: February 19, 2007, 02:14:27 PM »

It's Monday!
As we know this weekend was a big weekend for the Murray boys but the exact impact this has on the rest of British tennis is yet to be seen as the singles rankings haven't been updated yet! (ok, ok, we know Andy stays at 13 but that's all) The doubles is up however but I'll not do an update until I have the whole lot. I'll keep an eye and post as soon as it's ready.

SPOILER ALERT As predicted, Jamie moves up to a whopping career high 53, well knocking JA off GB no 1 spot. Woo Hoo!!!!

Re: British men's rankings « Reply #73 on: February 19, 2007, 02:41:08 PM »

No sooner do I post that than my 3rd attempt at the trusty Ctrl F5 pays off. So here we go:

Singles

Big 4 first:

Andy successfully defends his title winning points from last year by winning in San Jose and therefore remaining at 13   cmon yeah yay w00t

Tim manages to climb without lifting a finger going +1 to 37

Boggo has a better week and gains back +4 of last weeks dropped places to 150

Richard Bloomfield sticks at 187

Other big movers:

Greg slips further still falling -13  to 213 Retirement anyone  Crying or Very sad

This means that Joshua Goodall's little climb of +1 just puts him in at GB no 5 with a ranking of 211

Jamie Baker ragains all those lost places and then some this week with a jump of +31 to 237

Biggest mover in singles this week is one Miles Kasiri climbing an amazing +118 to 1417
Although a quick check on this guy shows he's been pro since 2003 with a career high of 768 in Jan 05 so not much to get excited about I shouldn't think.

Quite a good week for the singles overall, now doubles:

Doubles

The big 4:

Jamie Murray produces one of our most exciting results of the weekend by claiming his first title. This also gains him +12, a career high 53 and the GB no 1 spot! w00t clap

James Auckland drops to 2nd place with a small drop of -2 to 63

Jamie Delgado's time out with injury still losing him ranking points -2 places to come in at 111

Andy loses his place in the top 100 falling -15 to 114 (but are we really bothered?)

Others:

Josh Goodall climbs +7 and is the world no. 159

A handfull of other +3's and 4's across the rest of the board with nothing much else significant to report other than that Greg seems to have managed to drop a whopping -807 places in the doubles rankings! (lets all say it together shall we, 'retirement anyone?)

But you can check it all out for yourselves here:

Singles

Doubles

Just one more mexicanwave for the lads, and an extra  jumping-w00t for the Murray boys.

I think Andy could be in the top 5 by Wimby. French open's the big points bonanza i reckon

I think Andy could be in the top 5 by Wimby. French open's the big points bonanza i reckon

Top 5 may be a little optimistic, however with good results in the next 3 tourneys he plays he could and maybe will be in the top 10. I think from there they move to the clay court season and he should do better than last year.

I think top 8 is an acheivable goal by Wimbledon.

I think this years goals for Andy will be a top 8 ranking and that will guantee playing in the Masters cup. He could do worse and still get a masters cup place. I think he would also like to get to a QF in a slam. Apart from that then I think he would (and probably will during the season) like to play Federer and Nadal a couple more times.

There's no doubt about it, Andy is still playing well above what his current ranking suggests. Where that will eventually even out is still up for grabs. Almost certainly he will be ranked in the top 4 at some point. If he has to wait a few more years before he can challange Rafa and Roger for the top 2 spots then so be it. One never knows of course of how some of the other young guns in and around Andy's ranking are going to mature also.

I think tennis is in excelent shape and even though Roger is winning the majority of slams he almost certainly won't be when Andy reaches his peak.

Being ranked in the top 8 doesnt necessarily get you a masters cup spot though... He needs to perform well in every tournament he plays to guarantee that...
