Cook should be good. Wish we still had Graeme Thorpe.

This is the team I wish E&W field, considering everyone else is fit:

Andy Strauss (Not the best player of spin...)
Alistair Cook (Great potential but is very tired)
Ian Bell (Should succeed)
Kevin Pietersen (If he is on form......)
Paul Collingwood (Suitable for the subcontinent)
Andrew Flintoff (The man himself)
Geraint Jones (No idea what to say)
Ian Blackwell (Can be a real good player)
Matthew Hoggard (May get hit on the first few days but pretty consistent)
Monty Panesar (If plays the way he played domestically....)
Steven Harmison (Would wish that the wickets were more bouncy)

Although I would probably swap Udal for Panesar, seing as he already has experience.  If he doesn't perform, then let Panesar play the next match.  Anyone getting up to watch it??

My choice would have been Udal but Panesar might get some extra motivation as it is in India. I will obviously watch the match meaning I will have gone without sleep for more than 30 hours by the time it ends! First Andy and then cricket. Cant Complain....

Freddie is that good, one does not need to talk about him.

I have a slight problem with cricket. Yes, the Ashes was brill. However, the top nations are essentially playing for nothing - they're playing a series of friendlies. Yes, I know there's a World Cup - but that's for one-days. We need a proper World Championship, otherwise it's all a bit meaningless.

Also, the reason we've struggled since September is obvious - our 1st choice XI is probably the best in the world, but we lack depth. Look at the players who've filled in during the Pakistan and Indian tours.

192-4, not great, but good to see Cook score runs on debut. We really need a big partnership from Colly and Freddie now. Good to see Collingwood in the team, he's a favourite of mine and I have long believed he should be in there.

246-7 thats bad! Only hope is that Collingwood stars smashing the first thing tomorrow.
