This is good for people like Boggo. For world stars, 15 points is neither here nor there.
Good point but people like Boggo already want to play Davis Cup Think

This is good for Davis Cup but bad for Andy. It gives the big players more incentive to play but seeing as GB have, well, no chance of hanging about the upper reaches this won't bring him many points. But guys he's in competition with for ranking spots, the French guys, the Argies, this gives them an oppertunity to make 500 points! That's a lot to think about!

It gives the big players more incentive to play
Didn't we all just agree on this thread that it's the complete opposite - it doesn't act as an incentive to the big names due to the lack of ranking points available.

If you're in the lower reaches. There's loads of points up for grabs in the World group.

Up to 500 points will be on offer to ATP players under the new system, with a bonus of 125 additional points on offer to a player that wins all eight live singles rubbers as well as winning the Davis Cup.

That's currently higher than a MS win. Won't be under new points but it's still pretty high.

If the big players are like Andy, and are stuck in one of the Zones, then yes, 15 points isn't much of an incentive. If you're in the World Group, however, it's a different story. 500 points for winners of singles final, with an additional 125 for a player who wins 8 "live" matches. I think most players would get out of bed for that! This team event could have a big impact on the individual rankings and Andy could be at a serious disadvantage because he's a strong player in a weak team. It hardly seems fair!

I see where he's coming from - Davis Cup has been for the players who genuinely want to play for their country, now we wont know which players genuinely give a sh*t for their country.
