If anyone's read the Wikipedia article, it clearly states that The Doctor only has 2 or 3 "rebirth thingys" left! Then he would be dead forever... David needs to stick around for a bit longer...

I remember from the original series that the Doctor only had a certain number of reincarnations (8 or 10 or something like that) but since it is TV I’m sure the continuity errors will be overlooked.
