There really does need to be some actual rules set out for these cases. As mentioned above, it happened several weeks ago with myself and Dana and noone was really sure which result was correct. As I said at the time, there needs to be a decision and something added to the official rules to avoid this confusion in the future.

He's brilliantly idiotic at times.

It's more likely that it was never decided in the intial rules and one person made up their mind and the rest went with it.

But if it could be included now that would be awesome.
Good posting!

In the result of a tie, the player who scored better the previous week will get the higher number of points. In the event this is still tied, it will go back to the previous week.
That's the suggestion I like best. Smile

Although I do have another one: If two or more players are tied at the end of the week the player who is highest on the overall leaderboard will get the points.

That first suggestion is easy to do, but technically not very good at actually seperating the better player for that tournament.

And your last suggestion is not good Allan. Say I win this week, then me and Josh tie for first place next week... so he gets the points cause he's higher than me on the overall? Hardly fair is it. Not rewarding either a) that tournaments performance or b) recent results but whole season results. If your going to take it from the overall leaderboard the only way to do it is to give the lower person the poinst as an incentive for the higher people to finish 1st outright. OTHERWISE, you will just get people copying predictions, or choosing something that means they can at worst draw, as they know they are guranteed the points.

I think we should try implementing the number of exact matches.

Would it be fair if only this was counted for Matchday 1? If there's a draw it goes on to Matchday 2 etc.

Or another idea, to make Matchday 1's finals predictions more relevant we could compare the success of the winners predicted. For example if I picked Rafa to win over Federer in 2 and you picked Federer to win over Roddick in 2 then if Federer loses in the 1st round and Rafa loses in the SF I would get the points. I just confused myself but I hope you see what I mean Think

That's an awesome idea. Whoever is CLOSER to the finals predictions. i.e. 1 player in the final. or player who reaches the furthest etc. I love this idea. I vote for most accurate finals prediction.

The only thing is as an example...

A- 30

B-27
C-27

Now, that's the points before finals predictions have been added on. If B gets both finalists and the winner, it's 3 points meaning

A- 30
B- 30

C-27.

B beats C due to a better final prediction but SHOULD NOT beat A despite the new rule. Another scenario

A-30
B-30

Finals predictions, B gets one finalist, A gets none. So no one gets bonus points BUT B wins the tie due to being closest.

My point is, that only ties AFTER MATCHES ARE COMPLETE should be settled with bonus points/most accurate. Not ties resulting AFTER bonus points.

"In the result of a tie at the end of the week, those who were closest to accurate finals predictions will get the higher points".
