I was touched by the Ben story... was lovely!
So is todays question asker not going to answer the question himself?

Yeah you just need to find a good one. They are rare but they are out there somewhere. France might be a good place to look

New question: Who was the first 'serious' person you went out with, where did you meet and how long were you together? you can come up with your own definition of 'serious'
The man I'm married to!
I met him whilst going out for a drink with an old boyfriend and they actually knew one another
Anyhow, Neil (old boyfriend) thought we'd get back together but I just wasn't interested
and was asked out on/accepted a date with the man who became my hubby. And his mum said that he wasn't the marrying kind and that it would never last!
We often laugh about that, 25 years on!

My first gf was Robyn, and I met her in Dundee at the age of 18. She was my first serious gf and we went out for 6 months. It was an awesome Summer time. I then left to go to Uni in Edinburgh and I didn't really make the time to see her. I was working and she was busy with other stuff back home..... so it ended soon after I left. But some awesome memories and a really really good first relationship. Set the bar anyway

First serious proper relationship would have to be with this girl called Julia, started 18 months ago and still going very strong - don't know how I put up with her sometimes though!

Bet the distance helps!
Can I submit a question for today? Well, it technically is another day where most of you are and half of my day's gone
What 2 records would you have them play at your funeral and why? Sounds a bit morbid but it's not really!
Mine? Just can't get enough by Depeche Mode & Spirit in the sky by Dr & the Medics. why? Well I can't get enough of most things
and I will be a spirit in the sky! And I like the Dr & the Medics version better!

The first and only gf was Emma, the recent one I posted about. Lasted 6 months and I was 20/21 (turned 21 about halfway through). Met through another friend.
It was great for the first 3-4 months but then she became a bit of a bi*ch. It was my exams that set it all off. She had left school at 16 so didn't really value education much. She just could not seem to grasp the fact then when I had my final exams of my degree, I didn't want to go out much or spend a lot of time driving across Auckland to see her (it was an hour long drive to her Dad's place where she stayed in the weekends when she was off work, and she did not drive herself). She couldn't accept that there was about 3 weeks where I had more important things to worry about and she treated me like sh*t from then on. I still saw her on the Friday and Saturday nights, but it wasn't the usual most of the day Friday (as she was off work and I finished uni at 12) and all day Saturday as I studied during those days for those few weeks.
Better off without her in the end. Was fun for a little while but in the end we were so different and had such different values that it could not have lasted much longer. Annoying I spent so much on the Christmas present really.
Not sure about the records question, have to think about it.

I've said from the first time I listened to Final Straw that I wanted Run to play, just to make people cry uncontrollably... ynow.
My friend actually suggested How to be Dead for the irony.
The other song is Lovely Day - Bill Withers...

oh my gosh, one of my songs is run by snow patrol too!!!! the whole bit about not being able to hear my voice but i'll be right beside you is a bit lovely
or throw me a rope by kt tunstall cos its one of my favourite songs ever
or breathe me by sia (though the irony of the song title might be a bit much lol) co it makes me cry everytime i hear it
or heal over by kt tunstall because it actually has some lyrics in it that makes sense with regards to death
all of those songs are a bit morbid
maybe always look on the bright side of life by monty python
(thats what my dad wants at his funeral lol)

(My quote is acting up again)
From Bev
What 2 records would you have them play at your funeral and why? Sounds a bit morbid but it's not really!
The records I would want played would be One by U2 because it reminds me of my twin every time I hear it.
The second would be Is Yesterday, Tomorrow, Today? by the Stereophonics.
It helped me focus on what I wanted and make the changes that needed changing at that time.

I went to a funeral (did 3 in 3 months in 2000
) and Don't worry, be happy was the record that his coffin went out too
He really was a cheerful chap!

One would HAVE to be a Bryan Adams song! "Thought I died and gone to heaven" is one of my favourite songs by him and its just a coinkydink its got "died" and "heaven" in it
And my other song would be The Monkees and "Sugar Sugar"

Ok, I'll go ... again ...
How old where you when (and if) you got into your first fight? This can be a physical fight or big slanging match.
I was about 10 when this girl who'd been bullying me for years came over to me while I was playing on a swing in the woods. She dragged me off it whilst pinching and pushing me and didn't really fight back because she was bigger than me but I was so wazzed off I gave her an almighty slap across the face. She stopped dead staring at me, started crying and ran off home. She had my hand printed on her face for at least a week

First fight ...
Hm.
I grew up as a boy, and most of my memories of early childhood seemed to largely involve a lot of physical fighting. Playground fights used to get me in trouble at 5 and 6, so I suppose it must have been well before that ...
