Hmmm... Federer confirms what everyone else in Tennis top 10 hoped wouldn't happen...

Dream on Federer... He just lost to Gonzalez. I don't think he'll be around for that long, who says he can handle it physically anyway? He won't like getting beaten all the time either so... wave

Im sure he will be around for 9 more years. But his control on Tennis will not be the same for long.

Based on the comments from both players, it seems Gonzalez was in brilliant form anyway...

He had a really rubbish first set but the second set win seemed to give him confidence. There was a deuce service game for Gonzalez at 4-3 that went back and forward that Gonzalez finally took. That was the turning point of the set for me. Gonzalez was unstopable after that.

Why was this thread created when Federer lost?

Lost what? Lost 1 match. That's no reason not to post a recent news article that a lot of people will be interested in...

It's not connected to his loss today.

My bad... I was looking at my monitor from a bad angle (sitting on the couch) so the colour of the link text didn't show hence my confusion.

He's brilliantly idiotic at times.

How ironic that this thread was created just before he lost to Gonzo. lol

Like said above I really doubt he'll be so dominant in 10 years time, maybe for the next three, and if he is, then it will be rather boring.

After Federer lost to Canas twice, I said it would only go down hill from there, that's exactly what has happened. I doubt very much Federer will regain the consistency that has everyone see him as the unbeatable. Soon he will simply be one of the very good players at the top.

Yup, two grand slams and another final from there on. Looks like he fell into a yawning chasm of failure didn't he?

So what? He can still win the next 3 slams and be going down hill if he's not so successful at the other tournaments.

Yeah but 7 tournaments won as opposed to 12 in 2006 and 11 in 04 and 05. That is quite a drop.
