I'm speechless... Though happy that all the Nadal fans who said Federer's reign was over can now see things clearly. Whistle

I think most people thought it best for Nadal to skip Hamburg and they were probably right. I think this win regarding Nadal's prospects in RG means very little however it does show Federer has greatly improved on clay since losing his coach.

I never said never, I just said not often... It's even more shocking when the No. 2 is the favourite to win with it being on clay....

The wimbly final in question was indeed 6-0 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (2-7) 6-3

Rafa Fans don't read to much into this defeat, Rafa was tired (no question) both Mental and Physical... Most players who win Hamburg don't go on to win the FO, although Gugga did in 2000 or 2001?? (Not sure)...

This match is a "tune - up event" fo RG.......Means F@ck all.... Fed won does not mean he's going to win RG..... Fed also beat a former King of Clay ie: CORIA in Hamburg 2005........and Fed did not win FO .. Rafa was not at his best ie: Both Mental and Physical....... But at FO he will bounce back and after a weeks rest will be out to win again, so the Streak has gone..So what.less pressure after all Rafa did say "I wake up every day and think this might be the day I lose the streak"...
So going into RG Rafa does not face this Streak pressure..

I must say I agree Rafa "should not have played at Hamburg" - Perhaps Toni Nadal will think about this next year, after all why Play Hamburg when every year you have not and WON RG  Rolling Eyes

But this Final was not best of 5 sets as it will be at RG... Rafa will be "fit" again and "Can Roger Play that well for perhaps 5 sets" ?? Me wonders against a "Fit" Rafa  Rolling Eyes

Whatever Dude, Fed kicked ass today and it's a warning sign. It wasn't just a tired nadal, it was a tip top fed. He can play as well as he wants for 5 sets no problem. Fitness won;t be the problem come the RG final. It'll be who is playing better. Tiredness is no excuse for being bagelled. Not at this level. It doesn't happen unless someone is playing really well.

I;m not saying Fed is favourite. He's still second favourite in my book, but he's a lot closer. This could be some final (assuming they both make it of course)
