It's like saying Mother Teresa's ungenerous just because she had to give her last penny to a member of her family to keep them alive rather than to a homeless person on the street. I did the moral thing at the end of the day now leave it!

I can't take you seriously comparing yourself to Mother Theresa on the one hand and that avvy on the other. Anyway... consider it left.

It's unfair to say he has got worse when clearly the strength of challengers has got stronger. Before last year there was no real challenger outside the French Open. But in the last couple of years Nadal has started to perform and reach the latter stages on all surfaces. Now there's also Djokovic and Tsonga looks like becoming a force. Perhaps over the next couple of years the likes of Murray may improve enough to be capable of going past the 4th round and into the latter stages aswell. Just a year ago it was inconceiveable to imagine anyone going close to beating him in a grand slam, other than Nadal at Roland Garros.
So now there are 'proper' challengers on all surfaces it will be much more difficult to win 3 in a year like he has been doing. There's absolutely no way he will "struggle to win another grand slam" however. He will win them and he will absolutely smash Pete Sampras' record. He just might have to be content with Wimbledon and maybe 1 other a year instead of 3.

Is this a 'non-standard user' poll?
Was just about to ask the same?
However, seeing as it was Mark and not a "standard member" who created the poll, it should be a valid and worthwhile debate.
Just messing with you Mark.
As for the actual question, I've voted no for now but I would just like to clarify what you actually mean by 'dominance.' Do you mean that he probably won't be in all 4 finals again and won't be winning 3 or 4 Grand Slams a year anymore? Or do you mean he will "struggle to win another Grand Slam and will be losing his number 1 spot soon" etc? I've voted no in the sense that I feel he will still be number 1 for several years and he will still win Wimbledon for several more years. He just may not win 3 in a year again mainly due to the emergence of valid challengers on all surfaces.

Yes the challengers have got stronger but he's also got worse if you look at his performances against the lesser players.

Roger played bad in a grand slam for the first time in 2 and a half years. He's still the player to beat, even at the French. You don't make the semi and then 2 finals if you can't play on clay. Sampras can't boast anything like that record.
If Rafa is injured or gets beat before the final in France Roger will still be the man to beat.
Wimbledon, well he's been the best for 5 years and he can be beaten, the other player will have to play his greatest ever match and Roger be like he is now. I think fed will step up and show the rest he is not going away quietly.

I agree with Mark actually. I think Fed will lose the top spot this year. Rafa, as per usual, is bound clean up in the clay court season. Plus, Djokovic is an excellent clay courter and might even accrue more points than Fed during that time of the year. Hopefully Murray will be fit for Wimbledon, along with Nole and Rafa. Those 3 can definetely challenge Fed on grass.

I love that all we can do is to hope Murray is simply fit for Wimbledon this year, that is how bad we've had it recently

Except it was in the context of his being one of the big challengers on grass!
