Everyone still think I'm so stupid? Federer will lose his no-1 spot this year as I predicted.

I don't think today's loss makes any big difference.

He played well, just that our boy was even better.  yay Andy's serving was absolutely incredible, didn't put a foot wrong, apart from only three DFs.

He really was spot on today. Very few unforced errors. And his groundstrokes were on fire.

And this is what makes me think Mark may be right. We're creeping toward a situation where Fed begins to look beatable. And without that on court status he may just start to lose more and more of those rusty first rounds he usually fights through. Lose number one by year end, possibly. be damn close to losing it, probably. But I don't think it'll be Nadal that'll sneak in for it...

Sure us fans will say that it proves nothing because Murray played the match of his life but the fact is, like what Lorna said, he is now beatable and that will soon prove to mean he is certainly not dominant.

Nonsense. He'll still win at least Wimbledon this year, without even being made to sweat until the final I might add too. Probably the US as well.

Not so sure about the US. You certainly can't ignore Nole there these days...

Federer is 100% fit yet Fish is able to demolish him in a MS event... once again, Federer's dominance is over.

I knew it was nothing overly special at the time although I tried to pretend it was to make it more enjoyable.

Interesting analysis from a Canadian tennis fan:

Roger Federer's big picture has few question marks. He came into the Pacific Life Open with Nadal just 350 points behind his No. 1 ranking but leaves with an 850-point gap. Federer needed match practice, and he uncorked 3 sublime performances. Tommy Haas saw what was coming; a mere sinus infection is hardly much of a virus. Had Federer started his semifinal like his earlier matches, Mardy Fish would also be "intimidated". Only Federer knows whether Fish truly outplayed him, a mono-related fatigue recurred, or whether he tanked once Nadal lost. Why risk the year for one event? Given his recent mononucleosis, Federer obviously needs 2 to 3 tournaments to get back to 100% capacity for the long season ahead. Every one of Djokovic's opponents was tired from playing earlier three-setters (Nadal had two 3-setters, Wawrinka had three 3-setters) and were 'weak' (Seppi, Kohlschreiber, Canas, Wawrinka, Fish) except for the injured Nadal.

By Singapore I predict:

1. Djokovic
2. Nadal
3. Federer

It's coming, I tell you...

Glandular fever for Fed? If this is true... i think we should lay off him for the last few losses, glandular fever takes a lot out of you..

We knew about this ages ago but he said he had recovered before Indian Wells.
