The league has given leeway to Rangers, can you tell me any other season when the last league games were on a Thursday?
It sounds as if Rangers are getting the excuses in early in case they get pumped of Zenit or throw the league away.
They are meant to be professional sports men for gods sake.

Leeway? Its because its physicaly impossible for Rangers to play all their games by the Sunday! What do you want them to do? Maybe if the SPL had made Celtic play their games in January this wouldnt have been a problem!
If we lose the league it may well be down to the scheduling of our last games. Its no surprise that our recent results have been poor, tiredness has set in. Yes they are professionals, but 68 games is a lot to play.

But there's no other solution. If Rangers was able to go to the SPL with a valid solution for how to solve this for them I don't see the SPL saying no. But what it comes down to is that (and it's due to the fact that you have had to play so many European games) there aren't enough days left for your games to be re-scheduled to.
I mean, one team has already had to lose the cash from a planned team holiday and countless other players have personally lost thousands cause the season has been extended for you, including, did I hear somewhere, a player having to put back his wedding!
What else do you want them to do? What is your solution? I mean, it doesn't help matters when you need two attempts to see off St Johnstone for goodness sake!

I agree, but that brings up an interesting point. Do we need Cup replay's? Why not go straight to extra time and penalties right away. The only benefit I can think of from the top of my head is that it allows minnows the chance to play against a big club away from home and get a bit of revenue. But I'm not sure this is as much the case in Scotland as it would be in England.

That is a good question. Maybe not. I mean. They do away with them for the final. Maybe do the same for the semi when the calender's getting busier.

Do the same for the whole competition if you ask me. Does it happen in other sports?

I like replays tbh. Adds to the whole magic of the Cup IMO. Nothing beats seeing the joy of Exeter earning a replay at Old Trafford or something.

Well it looks like the SPL might change their minds. They are talking about moving the Dundee Utd game to the cup final date and then making the cup final the week later. Not sure if this is the right way to do it, or if it'll happen!

They should not move the final. Surely that disadvantages the opposition by having them wait an extra week for it etc. And what about all the fans who have organised their lives (ie, transport, accommodation, time off work, possibly coming from overseas etc) around the original date?

I think we should just get them played, we've been poor in the last month domestically, and Celtic have benefited from some pretty poor decisions from officials, our fatigue is less of a factor IMO.

Yep, it's still very much in your own hands. It's only yours to lose from here. Just win your last few games.

Well to be fair, that's the only game I can see being moved. I mean as long as the league finishes on the same day for all teams, then surely the cup final doesn't matter.....

Rangers struggling against Motherwell. 0-0 at half time! Boyd, Novo and Darcheville have started. We need to win this game.
So far George Burley, Scotlands manager, and the head of the SFA have all voiced their opinions backing Rangers in their argument over the league/Uefa cup matches. It is only the SPL and Celtic that continue to say it is unfair to change anything!
