Yes, all not bad, but nothing very very good. Let me check up about Celtics win, and the standard of those teams at the time, and i'll comment then.
Anyway, to be champions of Europe even if the standard of opposition was lesser is probably better then to win a lesser competition in Europe. Its like saying its better to finish fifth in England then to win in Scotland. But i anyway don't agree it was lesser opposition then, but i'll check up about it.

Jesus, I'm not arguing with you ok. I gave my opinion on the matter and as usual you have to be totally anal about it. I've already looked at the teams and I've made my own mind up about the quality of the opposition. The fact Celtic won their first two games 5-0 and 6-0 says a lot. That's the last I will say.

I just had a quick look myself, and it looks like they beat an extremely impressive set of teams, with no mugs there. Before you start making up your mind about the quality of the opposition, maybe have a look at what their opposition was like at the time, and from the quick look i've had, it looks extremely impressive, far far better then the quality of opposition of Rangers this year. Besides for this, they won all their ties decisively, playing beautiful football, unlike Rangers this year.
By the way, do you always resort to personal insults whenever you have a disagreement?

Out of interest, did Celtic try and get the season extended to compete that year? Wink

But seriously, what a ridiculous and pointless argument! Who cares which is "better"? What Rangers fan is going to say Celtic's was "better" and what Celtic fan is going to say Rangers doing it would be "better"?
For me, they are not even comparable. Different competitions and different teams from completely different eras. There is no comparison as to which would be "better." Winning a quadruple is a f**king amazing achievement in any era and there's no way doing the 1967 and 2008 equivalents would be comparable. You could argue that a competition entirely made up of Champions is stronger than one made up mostly of 3rd-8th placed teams. But again, completely different eras so any comparisons are not particularly good.

That being said, I don't believe it will be an issue as I feel Rangers will blow at least one of the cup finals, if not both.

I did not see the games / goals, but when I used to watch Premier league football it used to frustrate me with all the refereeing decisions both the OF used to get.

I like nothing better than to see both of them getting pumped snakeman

Going back to the number of games that Rangers have to play, Walter Smith said Rangers had not asked for and would not be asking for a league extension after the SV Werder Bremen game.

So did last weeks reaction to the league fixtures not being moved any further make him a lair or who was it who asked for the extension?

Surely you mean Brother McCurry? Do you think he'll get his trowel and apron into the car?
