GB vs NZ - Rugby League Test Series
« on: October 27, 2007, 10:56:41 PM »
Anyone else a League fan on here? I remember there wasn't much interest in the Tri Nations series this time last year. I love league, always find it a much more exciting game than rugby union, not least because you can actually see the ball for the full 80 minutes. Been a big fan since the Jason Robinson days and always look forward to the internationals roughly this time each year.
Anyway, 3 match series between Great Britain and NZ in the UK. We (Great Britain to avoid confusion) have just won the first match 20-14 which was a nice Birthday present.
We made more breaks and werethe better side, yet were behind at half time. Punished the Kiwis for a couple of errors in the 2nd half and went 1-0 up in the series. Good game to watch.
Same Burgess, young 18 year old guy on debut was very impressive. Loads of big tackles and he scored what ended up being the winning try too. Unfortunately though he'll probably be suspended for the next game after going on report for a high tackle.
Anyone else watch the game?

Being a Wiganer I'm duty bound to like rugby league better than union, but I think I prefer union. I do like league though because the game does move alot quicker than it does in union.

Fantastic performance, really enjoyed it. 8 tries and 7 different scorers. First series win for 14 years.
