Brad Gilbert will continue to work with the LTA and coach Alex Bogdanovic in the hope of getting him into the top-100. Roger Draper, chief executive of the LTA, also revealed that personal problems were the reasons behind the Murray and Gilbert split. Roger DraperIt was a question of two guys who stopped enjoying each other's company on the tour.
I don't think it was anything to do with the tennis, I think it was more to do with what went on off the court.
I think there were signs of tension at the US Open and just before that, I don't think Andy's wrist injury helped when he was off the tour from the clay court season right through the grass court season.

This could be good for Boggo. He should work with the other British lads too and help them up to the top.

I'm a bit shocked at this news... I thought Gilbert to just agree to end it.

But it's Brad Gilbert for goodness sakes, he's one of the best coaches in the world, if not the best.
This is the tennis equivalent of Mourinho taking the reins at Torquay United.

He is the best and what is so annoying is if Murray didn't get injured then he would have been able to continue having Gilbert in small doses and thus not needing to split with him

But he works for the LTA first and coaching Murray was one part of that. He should finish the rest of his contract.

Mourinho taking the reins at Torquay United. That I would love to see... He'd take them to the Premiership as well...

Either Brad is taking on Boggo in the hope of doing amazing things with him and therefore proving some sort of a point to Murray or it's just that huge wage that is pulling him in.

Either Brad is taking on Boggo in the hope of doing amazing things with him I think this is probably true... a dose of winning ugly is just what Boggo really needs.

Im sure I read somewhere last week that it hadn't failed to escape Murray's attention that Roddick's backhand never improved even slightly under Brad's spell. And, when Fed was asked if he might consider Brad as a coach, his reply was "Not a chance!" Maybe he's not the knight in shining armour we thought he was.
