Did you hear what he said, "I would like to thank Tiger for not being here..."
Controversial.

Tiger's back at the US Open; but hasn't fully recovered from his knee surgery and is playing through the pain barrier. He shot a 1 over par, 73.

I've placed my usual bets on Sergio and Justin Rose...

Rose looks like missing the cut.
But Sergio had a great round today.

Yesterday, Tiger (with his sore knee) had a back 9 of 30 to finish the day a shot off the lead,
, Monty missed yet another cut
and Donald finished as the leading Brit on level par.
Today the course is playing tough today and the earlier starters are struggling to have a decent round.

Gah, unlucky Lee. Missed the play off.
Well done Tiger for taking it to a play off even though he could have easily won it in regulation play.

Was a pretty exciting finish. I thought Westwood was gone after he had those 3 bogeys in a row so he did well to stay in it. Why on Earth he went for the green on the 13th I don't know. And why on Earth Woods did the same from the same position after seeing what happened to Westwood is even more beyond belief! If they had just laid up they could both have had a relatively easy shot onto the green and a chance of birdie. Instead they ended up losing their ball in and got bogeys. That's where Westwood lost the tournament IMO. Should have been able to birdie that par 5 after a decent tee shot.
I hope Mediate can continue his good week and win but I expect Woods to win the playoff comfortably.

After 4 holes Mediate is winning by a shot.
I take it that you were watching it on the TV Alex? I was listening to it on the radio while trying to get to sleep. I eventually went to sleep after the final group played to the 18th.

With one hole to play, after lots of drama, Mediate leads by a shot.

Tiger wins with an injured knee.
Wonder what the effects this tournament will have had on the knee.

Yeah I watched it on TV from the 8th hole onwards.
Watched the playoff this morning. Shame for Mediate. You just can't beat Woods. Each time you get a sniff he hits back. Came down to 2 poor shots on the sudden death hole from Mediate.

That very serious for Tiger.
Getting another operation and missing the rest of the season. Including the Ryder Cup.
