Getting phoned at weekends is an absolute outrage, I would never put up with that unless it was urgent. Nights is almost equally as bad.

I sometimes work longer at home but generally I have no problem leaving it when I should.

See thats why I wouldn't want to work from home.  You aren't socialising.

For someone like me it's perfect and absolutely not an issue. I love working alone at home, I don't need to socialise. Maybe if I didn't have Cate in the evening it wouldn't be as good but still it is a billion times better than going to work every day.

2.5 days flexi being working from home?

No, starting early / working over lunch / staying late to make up my conditioned hours.

I can also have 4 days flexi at Christmas so it can add up to an additional 31.5 days off a year if I take the maximum each flexi period.

It is worth having short lunches and slightly longer days if you get a full day off in return.

It means I can have a long weekend every month and not touch my AL.

You do the same hours, just you arrange it to suit your schedule.

Now I understand Smile

I assume these shortened lunches are still 30minutes minimum?

Shame the hospitality industry ain't the same. You work to how busy it is basically. if people come in, or it;s busy, you get time to eat your dinner and it's straight back to work. I'm not that bothered, cause I get quite a few days off when I want them. My job just now is actually pretty decent. Very varied which makes a change from just doing the bar.

Not sure how my holidays work exactly, it's done on hours worked, pro rata or something. got paid for Xmas/New year so it's all good Smile

But legally you can have your 30minute break regardless of how busy it is.

Yes, and legally, my boss can fire me. lol Temporary contracts rolling. And I don't care that much, I don't need a break. I'm a worker, I don't believe in sitting doing nothing.

And you could almost certainly sue the company if he's even just hinting at you not to take your proper lunch. It's quite a serious thing if you're worried your boss will not look favorably on you for taking your 30mins.

Good luck. Means he can say that my job is over and give me four weeks notice.

Your choice, whatever the contract it shouldn't matter as it's a serious violation on his part and you could sue.
