See this is one of the reasons I wouldn't want to live in Canada (and I've thought about it) because they only get 2 weeks paid holidays a year!!  Right now I get 4 and a half.

I know!  They were shocked when I told them how many I had.  But they do get 12 bank holidays were as we get 8 I think.  But that doesn't really make up for it.

I get 8 days bank holiday and 28 days Annual Leave, so I suppose that's quite good.

When you speak about bank/public holidays, you have to remember that in the UK, if a holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday you make it up by getting the Monday off. In most other countries its not like that...

Yes, I'm at home usually 4 days out of 5, unless theres something important I need to go into the office for.

Well then you have a fantastic life because although working at home is working, you naturally feel there is a better work/life balance. Obviously the lack of a commute plays a big role but it's the comfort of being at home as well.

I get 1 day a week teleworking and that should be rising to 2 fairly soon, it's majorly important to me.

Working at home has it's disadvantages too, you can't switch off from it, you always seem to do more hours at home just 'cos it's there all the time, and people think they can phone you at night or the weekends, I should just not answer the phone but I can't always.  Also it's a bit lonely not seeing anyone which is why I'm on talking to you  w00t

Getting phoned at weekends is an absolute outrage, I would never put up with that unless it was urgent. Nights is almost equally as bad.

I sometimes work longer at home but generally I have no problem leaving it when I should.

For someone like me it's perfect and absolutely not an issue. I love working alone at home, I don't need to socialise. Maybe if I didn't have Cate in the evening it wouldn't be as good but still it is a billion times better than going to work every day.

No, starting early / working over lunch / staying late to make up my conditioned hours.

I can also have 4 days flexi at Christmas so it can add up to an additional 31.5 days off a year if I take the maximum each flexi period.
