Personally I think Auckland and Murray should have played the doubles, then Rusedski and Parmar play the singles.  I think Greg should have been allowed to sit the doubles out to play better for the singles today.

You speak the truth Amy.
But I guess the reason Bates chose Greg is because Greg was a fine doubles player once. He can again become one if he practises. But Auckland, although not the same class as Greg, plays a lot of doubles. So he should have been selected.

I think that if Andy had been 100% it would have been but that Bates chose Greg to back Andy up cause he wasn't totally fit. Instead James seemed to elect himself as personal cheerleader for the crowd. It was quite funny actually!

I saw that! I must admit, it had me in hysterics a couple of times  Whistle But good on him, he was getting the crowd going, and supporting the team!  Wink

He really was. It was amazing, it was as though he'd said well if I'm not paying I may as well still be a valuable member of the squad. He was leading claps and cheers all weekend, standing on his chair an all kinds. It was pretty cool.

He was clearly fine, and might have sealed the tie for us today. As things stand it's going to be tough, and I still get the feeling he won't play and it's more manipulation to keep the numbers up.
