Yeah we get that too.... i think most teachers say that, i guess they're trying to encourage a better vocabulary used in writing or something..

well i hate my english teacher because i don't know whether you have had to write an original writing piece yet but we were told that we had to write a opening chapter about something we knew about. so naturally i decided on tennis! about a teenage girl  falling in love with a boy at her tennis club.
but he said i had to do it again because he isn't interested in teenage love lives ranting  and to make it worse i have been stuck with him as an english teacher for 4 years!!!!

Yeah my A2 English Lang teacher doesn't like you using nice, but I don't care cus she wrote me a fantastic reference for uni Smile

My English teacher gave me a 7/10 'cause I wrote one thing the wrong way, all the others in my class who don't speak 3 words of English got the same grade but they had plenty more faults. Grrrrr  ranting

Sometimes I just don't get those teachers dontknow

She makes a horrible mistake, she says: How comes? It's so 'How come?' Isn't it?

I'm not sure.... my grammar is dreadful  Whistle  But i think it depends on the context, i think we say both  dontknow

My english teachers for GCSE and A2 were less than good. One was incredibly pretentious (although admittedly she let me be Othello Wink and she was a pretty amazing writer) and one was absolutely lovely but didn't know the first thing about the subject.....
