Nanos are good quality. definately better that the shuffle. And you can get an 8gb if you do want a little more space.

I bought a Nano
from eBay
last night. Cate constantly nagged me to tell her a birthday present I would want so I thought this would be appropriate

Yes, I forgot to mention in my original post that you will indeed be paying for it

The chargers for the shuffles are some flimsy docking stations which I hate. Mine has already broken and Cate's has almost stopped working. But now I just bought two of these for £5, they have no wires which is pretty cool.

Does that mean you abandoned your nano and still use the shuffle?
Incidentally, on the ancient subject of sound quality, the Gear4 BassStation is a fantastic ipod docking station (if anyone's looking for one).
Only £70 and sounds better than most stuff up to £400.

Shuffles look crap. I have the video nano and its great. Although I've been meaning to continue research on how I would go about setting up my ipod to my telly so I can watch the videos on a bug screen.

They are indeed quite basic but for me, the type that listens to the same album over and over, suits me fine.
