Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference? Is it the Futures and challengers information or the womens as well?

Its the lower level of tennis before you go onto the ATP tour (futures/challengers). I just emailed the head of Lancashire tennis who just happens to be based in Wigan

I notice that they also do the Olympics as well, bit crap that that Women get ranking points and the men don't (well up till now no agreement has been reached anyway). Challenger dates up to February has been release and are posted above, but no futures as of yet that I can find.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference? Is it the Futures and challengers information or the womens as well? The Women's is the WTA, ITF covers the lower tier as amy said and ATP is the higher tier. Grand Slam's are covered by the ITF and Davis Cup is as well I think...

Why not go to ATP, Masters or Slams?
With cheap air travel they are accessable to most people and it will be people you have heard off.

Still a case of money, time off and someone to go with. Although me and Lorna are thinking of going to the Montreal Masters series 2009 as I can get free accomodation . But I just like watching tennis and I sort of follow the British players so its nice to see them up close and pay next to nothing.

That is the good thing about being out here, Petrol is probably about a third of the price in the UK so you think nothing of three hours on the Autobahn and there are lots of events relatively close.
Düsseldorf is probably the closest, about twenty minutes away.
The prices for tickets are cheap as well Metz was less than £10 and Rotterdam £35 for two sessions.

Well I'm gonna have to start saving for the Canadian one because they had prices for afternoon and evening matches (robbing bast**ds). And I'm definately going to the Liverpool and Manchester tournaments next year even if I am going on my own. Tickets for them are pretty cheap.

Just as a matter of interest, how many Challenger/Futures events are held in Scotland each year?

Two futures. One in Edinburgh the other in Glasgow. As for challengers ...

... none last year from what I can find. I was sure they had at least one challenger in Scotland though

The ITF calendar has been released up until April. Unfortunately no tournaments close to me, the closest is probably the woman's tournament in Wrexham.

The first British futures event starts 14th January in Sunderland. Richard Bloomfield looks to be the number one seed. Ken Skupski is on the entry list too Hes an amazing player! Richard Irwin is also on the entry list Damn I wish I lived in Sunderland
