Na! She isn't 19. She is 16. 19 year olds can't play Juniors. But she doesn't have any women's experience and no Junior points. Not a good result for Jade. Josh Milton is playing here in the Boy's draw and he's through to the second round. It'll be really cool to have a good Welsh player.

Jade is doing quite well at the G1 she is playing this week. She defeated a wildcard in the first round and got the better of the 16th seed in three sets in the second. A bad draw for Jade actually, she plays the second seed and world number 13 Sorana-Mihaela Cirstea of Romania for a place in the quarters. Jade and a Croatian girl teamed up for doubles and they are the eighth seed. They are through to the quarters and play the top seeds there. Naomi is playing at the same event and is seeded ninth. She received a bye in the first round and is through to the R16 where she plays fifth seed and world number 16 Sacha Jones of New Zealand. Hmmm.... tough but she has a chance. She is playing doubles with the same Sacha Jones! They are seeded fifth and are through to the quarters. Yep. G1 is second tier international level, just behind GA. She needs another win here to make a big difference to her ranking. The last one just took her into the top 90.

Jade lost pretty badly, a 6-3 62 defeat. But a 'well done' to her for reaching this point. Cavaday lost 7-6 6-2. I would have been happier if she had dragged it to three sets. Not a good performance sadly. Cavaday also lost here doubles match. But the great news is that Jade and her partner upset the top seeds in the quarters. They play the seventh seeds for a place in the finals. What a great doubles player this girl can be.

sadly (for me and those who want to watch her on tv) jade is turning out to be a spectacular doubles player... hopefully she will continue to improve on both fronts though...

After the US Open, Jade will play a G1 in Kentucky. No Naomi there. I believe that she will attempt to do bigger things after the USO. Entry List: http://www.kyitftennis.com/docs/GirlsAcceptanceLists2006.pdfNo Tara Moore! No Dyce in the Boys' list either. But maybe he'll make the trip across the Atlantic. I know that Evans plans to launch his Men's career next month, with Futures in Britain and Finland. Dyce maybe looking towards doing something similar.
