Quote from Boggo:

"The LTA support me when I need things. But they do not seem to understand that I need more time in the gym than on the court. We never got to compromise.

"Sometimes I would wake up feeling stiff, and there was no point going out to play. I needed to strengthen my body. I told them I would give it a go on my own, and my decision has made me a better player. It's how much you believe in yourself that really counts."

Are the LTA always right?  I don't think they realise the sacrifice the players make for the DC.  All the players have missed out on two weeks of the season, which happens to be Boggo's strongest part.  It is around Feb that he normally picks up a lot of points by doing well on the European indoor Challengers.  I think he would have been jusitified in saying if Murray won't come, neither will I and try to earn some more points and get his ranking up, which seems to be the only thing the LTA judge the players on.  Clearly he is more committed to working hard and playing for his 'country'.  I don't see the LTA accusing Murray of being lazy.

Are you suggesting Boggo doesn't work hard, isn't committed and doesn't deserve his ranking then?

Well for a start i never said that. My comment wasn't actually by way of comparison. It was an observation purely about Jamie and how hard he works.

Although now that you mention it, actually I would. Wouldn't be the first time a commentator or insider has observed that Alex has the talent to be SO much better than he is.

The slow climb back up ranking starts this week in Brownsville, USA (USA F4). When we find out the draw I think he'll be seeded 2.  Think

Jamie must have been doing better in tournaments this time last year, he has just won the event but slipped 1 place down the rankings and I'm pretty sure that happened last week as well, when he got to QF's or Semis, can't remember which.  It must be a bit soul destroying to win a tournament and still go backwards in the rankings.
