You'll know when it arrives .............. thunderbolt! electricity! pining! loss of appetite! And you think I'm joking !!
Thats just me when I see a fine good looking man
I think its not a case of people don't get married because of possible lack of sex or cost in getting married, its the fact that living out of wedlock is acceptable these days. I'm actually shocked when I hear one of my brothers mates are getting married and they are 25-26 years old.

Well they had two children who are 5 and 3 so it seemed like they should get married I guess. So the kids mummy would have the same last night as them.
My other brother has two children too but him and his girlfriend won't be getting married anytime soon I don't think.

I don't know if the names really have much to do with it. If they are their fathers or mothers surname from birth why would they question that?
I suppose marriage is just to show are you committed to one person. Maybe the reason people aren't getting marriage because they think it might end in a messy divorce.

Oh, missed this one and no time to really stay and chat but would say that really people should marry if children are involved, that there's really no good time to have children and planning takes all the fun out of it! and that I've been married (good times outway the bad) for 23 years this year, and have been together for 25
and that I really wasn't bothered if I had a ring on my finger or not, would show the same kind of comitment, but meant something to hubby that we were married and I respected his opinion.

I think it is possible that the kids' school mates would taunt them if they have different names from their Dads. Maybe not, but kids hate to be different.
Also, the divorce issue is so real and messy, as you say.
Most kids I know have taken the surname of the father anyway (unless the mother is a single mother) so if anything they'd get bullyed from not having the mothers name.

I mean marriage isn't needed for laws these days either. Unmarried couples after a few years living together are treated as a married couple now anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but many years ago, married men used to get an additional tax allowance for being married but some stupid government got rid of that one, so no real benefits of being married!
Also, you can always get a wedding to fit the budget but too much emphasis on 'big' weddings is being banded about - ridiculous the amounts that are being forked out.

Yep, big weddings are stupid. I'll be having a humble wedding with just a few people.

If you're going to spend a lot of money it makes sense to spend it all on the honeymoon, that is where I would not object.
