5 hours is unfair if the thread goes up at 11pm for a 4am GMT deadline. I think if the thread is posted between 11pm and 3am GMT it should be at least 9 hours before the deadline but if it's any other time then 6 hours is plenty.  Smile

Yeah, I see what you mean. 6 hours was plenty when it was a 4 o' clock deadline yes

So if the thread goes up at 4 AM for 10 AM deadline it is OK but if it is posted at 3 AM for an 11 AM deadline it is not OK???

That doesn't seem right.

It's because Morning deadlines can be harder to predict if posted very late, so maybe it should be anything posted up until 6/7 am  with 7 hours?

I disagree. The WHOLE argument is entirely based upon people's sleeping patterns (or your assumption of them). Either you have ONE fixed limit (i.e. 5 hours, 9 hours) or you have none at all. The entire point of the game is to get your predictions in on time. You can't decide amongst yourselves each time a thread is posted up whether it should count or not.

Personally, unless it's been obviously missed by everyone for like OOP + 12 hours or something silly like that, then every thread should count. I'm perfectly happy for this one to count, but only cause I think the rule is rubbish in the way it has been written up.

Pish. Again, totally basing it on what you think to be the "norm" of people being awake. I couldn't post my predictions before the deadline due to work. I didn't even know the thread was up. I could complain and say it's unfair (which technically it is) but it's not like I was winning this week anyway! lol

A further suggestion to the hours before deadline thing, would be say hours after OOP is released? i.e., OOP released at 2am, thread has to be live by 6/7am? Something like that?
