Nadal is destroying Mario Ancic, first set was 6-0, they are only at 1-0 in the second though.

I'm actually gutted for the qualifier. Imagine being up a double break against Fed then loosing it. Pity!

Drat - I wish I hadn't looked on here - I am recording the Nadal/Ancic match ......... I really like them both but when I have to choose, Nadal is my first choice.

Oooh - Nadal is striking the ball beautifully. Looks like he is continuing from where he left off last year.
Poor Ancic's Dad - he had his head in his hands a couple of times - very hard for them to watch.

Sure was ........... he was certainly in the 'fearless underdog' category for a bit.

Ferrer and Nadal must be having some match. Nadal wins the first 6-1 and Ferrer breaks Nadal TWICE at the start of the second..... WTF!

And Ferrer is now serving to stay in this match, Nadal managed to claw back the breaks of service, and it is 6-5 in the second set to Rafa.

I too thought that was what he said.
I have another time-wasting theory, this time about the Joker. I have watched him many times and seen him retire when he is down and am wondering if it is due to adrenalin.
Example: When he played Murray and other lesser players this tournament, with absolutely no threat, he is calm and goes about his business filled with confidence. When he plays a higher ranked player i.e. Federer or Nadal and is 'uptight' about it, it looks to me like he has an adrenalin rush (or two) which when it subsides leaves him (and anyone else) absolutely exhausted. This is what happened yesterday I think. As he came to the end of the first set, adrenalin rush sets in - he's taking deep breaths, trying to control his breathing etc etc. Loses the first set - adrenalin has subsided and he is flat as a pancake and it is over.
Anyone agree with that possibility? Anyone experienced it? I've had an adrenalin rush in a close call vehicle incident and thought I was going to pass out afterwards - so I do know what it feels like.

Interesting theory....I think he's just an even worse loser than Muzza.. Poor sport, if you ask me. He's done it before and if I'd paid to watch the match I'd feel a bit short changed. I think it's pretty pathetic that a grand slam winning pro is pulling out for feeling 'dizzy' when Fed, riddled with mono, plays on and takes a beating like a man. I have a lot more respect for Fed than Nole and Fed's a twally

I have thought and believed everything you've said ........ and - I'd be madder than mad to have paid a high ticket price and not get good value for money. Having said that - about money - I would imagine the spectators in Monte Carlo, for the most part, would regard the ticket price as just so much loose change.
Anyway, I was just wondering if there could possibly be a valid alternative reason .......... it'd be nice to give him the benefit of the doubt ...... but !! ??

Agreed. Despite his many and copious faults Murray doesn't have a habit of withdrawing because he feels "a bit dizzy"...
