Yeah, I'm quite shocked Davydenko is essentially accusing Murray of being involved in corruption but then again, remember all those break points he had for the set yesterday? Murray fits the criteria due to his inconsistency but no way is he involved.
Unfortunately it aphected his performance

My concern now is when the general public view headlines about this in the back of the papers. They won't realise that Davydenko is being an idiot and will just believe it, especially as most people seem to dislike Murray.

that headline's a bit misleading.... How could Andy be implicated by somebody already being investigated for the same thing? That's like Kiefer Sutherland accusing George Clooney of being an alky

I agree. Could change to 'accused' if you'd prefer?

Loving the front page graphic lol...but accused is better... Implicated implies he was involved in something that definitely happened

Daveydonkey, sounds a bit like people in glass houses and chucking stones,I don't think Andy Murray said any more than Tim Henmann and that was less than the players who said they were actually approached.Only wish Andy would learn from experience, and be more non commital with the British press. He's more vunerable than Tim who commented at the end of his carreer.also Andy is not as diplomatic.

He should really talk to his friend Timmy more
from the beeb website
Tim Henman has raised concerns that betting in tennis is endangering the integrity of the sport.
Former world number four Henman told BBC One's Inside Sport he has heard on the grapevine of players being asked to influence the outcome of matches.
"I personally have never experienced it but, listening to the players talking, it seems it goes on," said the Briton.
"We've got to be very careful, very vigilant about it as tennis doesn't want to be associated with that."

So basically the players had too much respect for Henman so they ignored it but when Murray comes out with the same stuff, they attack.

Maybe it was because Tim said that after the Davis Cup week-end when he retired. Also he's been on the circuit for a lot longer than Andy Murray.Tim Henmann has learnt over the years to think carefully before he speaks Andy's more of a "speak your thoughts aloud" individual.Combine that with the British press love of making a headline more dramatic if possible, forget accuracy. And "OOR Andy" is in deep mud.(or words to that affect)I think things might become a bit difficult for him.

I think the problem is Andy said something everyone understood and of which everyone knew it wasn't to be taken too literally, but some players liked to take advantage of the way he chose his words to make Andy look bad. It's such a typical technique, it shows weakness.
And it's not quite like Nadal and Davydenko were accusing Andy, they were more protecting themselves as they were obviously intimidated by the risky words of Murray.
For me, the one who dares to say things so openly, isn't involved, just not naïve whereas Nadal and Davy fought those words, they are more likely to be suspicious.
I totally agree with this and it was actually my first thoughts, well the Andy bit anyway - didn't think too much into Davy/Nadal thing but it seems to make sense to me.
